Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Last updated 11 months ago

Enhance the security of your TrustReq account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). When 2FA is activated, you will use an app like Google Authenticator or Authy to receive a verification code each time you attempt to log in. You will need to enter this code to complete the login process.

Why 2FA?

2FA adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring not only your password but also a verification code generated by an authenticator app. This ensures that even if someone else knows your password, they won't be able to access your account without also having access to your authenticator app.

Recommended for All Users

We strongly recommend activating 2FA to help keep your account secure. By enabling 2FA, you significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access and protect your sensitive information.

Activate 2FA

To activate 2FA, follow these steps:

  1. From your TrustReq dashboard, click on "Settings".

  2. From the Settings page, click "Security" in the left hand sidebar.

  3. Click the button that says "Begin 2FA setup".

  4. Enter your TrustReq password in the popup window as a security measure.

  5. Once your password is verified, you will see a QR code.

  6. Download and install Google Authenticator or Authy on your mobile device.

  7. Scan the QR code using either of those two authenticator apps, then click "Continue"

  8. Enter the verification code generated by the app to complete the setup.

Now, every time you log into TrustReq, you'll be asked to type in the code that is being displayed in your authenticator app at that moment. The code changes every 30 seconds.

Deactivate 2FA

To deactivate 2FA, perform steps 1 and 2 above, and then click the red "Deactivate 2FA". Prior to confirming the deactivation, TrustReq will require you to type in your password, as well as the code that is being displayed in your authenticator app at that moment.
