How to invite your client to verify their identity on TrustReq
This article explains how to send a request to your client (or "contact") asking them to verify their identity remotely.
Starting from your TrustReq dashboard, click on "Contacts" on the left-hand sidebar. Then, locate the contact whose identity you wish to verify.
Once you have found the relevant contact, click on "View details" to go to their Contact Display Page. Then, scroll down to the "Identity verification" section.
Click the "Invite for Verification" button, and confirm your decision. This action will send an email to your contact containing a link where they can verify their identity.
For security reasons, the email sent to your contact will also contain a passcode. He or she must enter that passcode before beginning the identity verification process.
After your contact attempts verification, you will see their verification status appear in your Contact Display Page. Each attempt will be listed, regardless of whether or not the attempt was successful. Common reasons why a verification attempt might not be successful is because the contact failed to capture a clear image of their government-issued ID, or failed to capture a clear selfie.
If the verification is successful, you will see the verified details displayed in this "Identity Verification" section. If the verification fails, the contact can retry. Multiple attempts might appear, and each attempt will be logged for your review.
Please note that pay-per-use fees apply to each attempt, regardless of whether or not the attempt was successful. Although these fees are nominal, they can quickly add up, so you should consider logging a disbursement for each pay-per-use you incur regarding a client's successful or unsuccessful identity verification session.
